The library is closed daily 11:45-12:45 for lunch break and recess duty and 2:30-3:00 while I do crossing guard duty.

Students may come to the Library Media Center anytime that there are no scheduled classes. Please see the HOURS and SCHEDULE.
Lessons
Library Media Center and Computer Technology lessons are taught weekly. Half of each class goes to the library and half to the lab, switching groups every other week.
In the Library Media Center students have time to choose materials to check out, have classes in the use of the media center and its materials, and have books read to them.
The Library Media Center lessons for Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec are as follows:
Kindergarten -library behavior and book care.
1st grade - book care and library behavior

alphabetical order, authors' last names to locate easy books
2nd grade - location

how to find easy,fiction and nonfiction using the call numbers and the authors' last names
3rd grade - a review of the above

5th grade - We are introducing a new year-long project together with the computer tech classes that will result in an "All About Me"book created by each student demonstrating the use of library and computer resources.

Checkout procedures
Kindergarteners may check out 1 book at a time.
All other students may check out up to 3 items at a time.
Materials are due in one week, but may be renewed as needed.
First through fifth graders may check out books and magazines.
Third through fifth graders may also check out 1 video or CD set (recorded book) at a time, with a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian.
Lost or damaged materials must be paid for.
Parents may also borrow materials.
